Standard and custom moulding profiles, made in-house with unmatched precision and craftsmanship
Trim Profiles That Fit Your Style—and Your Space
The right trim profile doesn’t just finish a room—it defines it. From timeless classics to one-of-a-kind custom profiles, our in-house capabilities allow us to shape every detail to fit your vision perfectly.
What Are Trim Profiles—and Why They Matter
Trim profiles are the finishing details that elevate a home from basic to beautiful. They define the edges, frame your spaces, and bring cohesion to the overall design. Whether subtle or bold, trim profiles add character and structure to a room—and when they’re built with care and precision, they leave a lasting impression. At Prairie Winds Woodworking, we design and mill our trim profiles in-house, giving us full control over quality, detail, and customization. This also means we can match historical profiles, create seamless transitions, and offer builders and homeowners more flexibility without relying on stock materials or unreliable timelines.

Trim Profile Options We Offer
We craft a wide variety of standard trim profiles that cover both classic and modern aesthetics. Each piece is created from real wood, milled and sanded to a sleek surface ready for your staining and finishing, or our finish work using M.L. Campbell conversion varnish.
Our core moulding offerings include:
- Crown Moulding – Adds elegance and height to ceilings; available in multiple styles and curves
- Chair Rail Moulding – Functional and decorative mid-wall detail that adds depth and protection
- Casing Moulding – Frames doors and windows with crisp lines and architectural detail
- Base Moulding – Clean transitions between walls and floors, with classic or modern styling
- Base Caps & Base Shoes – Fine finishing details that enhance baseboards, cover gaps, and create a clean, polished look
And that’s just the start—many profiles of these mouldings are available upon request, and we’ll help you select the right combination to fit your space, design goals, and wood species preferences.

Custom Trim Profiles, Knife Making & Moulder Setups
Need a specific trim profile for a restoration or custom project? We’ve got you covered.
We offer full custom profile replication, which may include ordering specific knives to cut your exact shape. All you need to do is bring us a piece of the trim you want to replicate. We’ll take care of the rest. This service is perfect for historic renovations, one-of-a-kind builds, or anyone who doesn’t want to compromise on the details. Custom doesn’t scare us—in fact, it’s what we do best.
Knife Making
For custom profiles, we order specialty knives. If you're ordering enough trim for a full job, there's no knife fee. Small runs or partial jobs may include a knife cost.
Moulder Setup
To run the trim, we have to set up our professional moulder. As with knife fees, setup is free for full jobs. Small quantity orders may be subject to a short run fee.

Stairway Parts and Hardwood Options
We’re more than mouldings. At Prairie Winds Woodworking, we also craft and supply a full range of stairway components, all made from high-quality hardwoods and finished with precision.
- Handrails – Smooth, strong, and styled to match any home
- Solid Newel Posts & Box Newels – Custom-sized for traditional or modern staircases
- Wooden & Iron Balusters – Vertical posts that support the handrail and define the style of your staircase
- Wood Treads & Risers – Built for durability and designed to impress
- Hardwood Flooring – Available in multiple wood species and widths for seamless design continuity
Every element is built to endure and crafted to coordinate beautifully with the rest of your trim and millwork package.
